so i know a vast majority of my flisters are veronica mars fans. i mean, i met more than half of you through the vm_redux community, yeah? it would only make sense. anyway, i know that a lot of you also like to write fics - namely veronica mars fics. well, want to enter a contest with them? it's all fun and games, i swear. it's like any other fic contest i know you people have entered (; except better. it's veronica mars. the first challenge is 30 days long - from the first of september to the last. vmfic_gameon . even i'm considering entering, and i don't even write fic a lot anymore! please? it sounds like fun.... :)

here's my masterlist of tv shows that i want to watch before my first day of school after summer of two-thousand-ten. it's my masterlist of tv shows i want to watch, have watched, and am currently working on watching. watching also means catching up on, so if a show (such as heroes, for example) is still on air but i've finished catching up on previous seasons, it'll go in "have watched". also, shows i am watching include ones that i watch weekly that i may or may not have already been watching on television (such as gossip girl, which i've been watching since it's starring day). make sense? and before you mention how much teen trash i watch, i know. but i'm a teen, so it's okay xD

TUTORIAL - SCREENCAP

step one,
first, i recommend that you prepare your base. by preparing your base, i mean sharpen (if necessary, which it sometimes is), make a screen layer (duplicate layer-> then screen; also optional), and crop and resize to a 100x100 icon size (required).

also, a good idea with screen-captures is to zoom in, take your blur tool, and blur their pixelated skin a little. the blurring is optional and should only be done to skin - meaning exclude eyes, lips, and ESPECIALLY the nose. people assume the nose is okay, but it's not.

zoom out again, and go to image -> auto color and then image -> auto tone (the auto tone is not required, but auto color is)

this is what i got

(however, for this particular tutorial, i decided not to keep the blur, just because most people skip it)

step two,
after that, go ahead and click layers -> new adjustment layer -> curves

change the input and output to the following
output: 206
input: 131
you should have something like this

step three,
next, go back to layers -> new adjustment layer -> brightness/contrast

change the settings to the following (with legacy unchecked)
brightness: 50
contrast: -30

now you should have something like this

set the layer opacity to Normal at 50%

step four,
alright, so we're almost done here *yay*. go to layers -> new adjustment layer -> color mixer

change the settings on red to
red: +100
green: +0
blue: -20
constant: 0

do not change the settings for green.

change the settings on blue to
red: -5
green: +7
blue: +105
constant: 0
with one final step, your image should look like this

step five,

finally, add a selective color layer (layers -> new adjustment layer -> selective coloring) with these settings (NOTE: THIS LAYER IS OPTIONAL, BUT RECOMMENDED)

for reds:
cyan: -50
magenta: -53
yellow: -20
black: -57

for yellows:
cyan: -100
magenta: +31
yellow: +100
black: +0

for cyans:
cyan: +100
magenta: -100
yellow: -100
black: +11

for blues:
